Hello,

I recently built a system with a Rysen 3 1200 processor
https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-3-1200
and a GA-A320M-DS2 motherboard

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-A320M-DS2-rev-10#kf

When I booted the system with live DVD everything was OK
except the "ERROR: failed to attach AMD IOMMU" error.

Then I installed the system but for some reason he GUI
could start (the logs did not show anything and I have
an MSI GeForce GT 730 2GB graphics card). I modifiedfile

/platform/i86pc/kernel/drv/amd_iommu.conf

and then the system booted just fine and the GUI started
with no problem. However, I still see the "ERROR: failed to
attach AMD IOMMU" message after the SunOS message.

I get that error every time I boot my Ryzen system. It seems to
do no harm. Everything else seems to work normally, including
the GUI.

The only time I have ever needed IOMMU was when I did PCI pass-through
of my Graphics card to a VM.

I don't think there is any other use for it.

As we don't have Quemu for AMD anyway you wont need it.
