Hi all,

due to lack of VirtualBox support after July illumos changes, I moved
Windows VM (used for skype mainly) to kvm...

KVM guests start fine, but:
* I am unable to use shared folders (not terribly important, but nice to
have)
* clipboards sharing between host/guest does not work. I spent some time
looking around for solution, and almost every document mentions "spice"
tools, but our qemu-kvm is not compiled to support it. tigervnc (if I
start guest with vnc) also does not work (although clipboards sharing is
enabled)
* I cannot get better resolution than 1024*768 - whatever I do it is not
possible to use 1280x720x32 or 1366x768x32

Does anyone uses kvm and knows solution for (best would be, if possible)
for all 3 problems I have faced with?

Regards.

To replay to myself:

$ qemu-kvm -h | grep spice
-spice <args> enable spice

$ qemu-kvm -spice help
qemu-kvm: -spice help: there is no option group "spice"
spice is not supported by this qemu build.

Command to start guest:
$ qemu-kvm -m 1536M -cpu host -drive
file=/dev/zvol/rdsk/pz512/VBoxGuests/Win10_64-HD1 -netdev user,id=vlan0
-net nic,model=e1000,netdev=vlan0 -k de -smp 1 -localtime -soundhw all
-no-hpet -bios /usr/share/qemu/bios.bin -usbdevice tablet -monitor
tcp:0:55010,server,nowait -daemonize

Hi.
We miss spice libs to build qemu with them. I don't know if somebody has looked at porting them.
